Huntersville Family Chiropractic opened in 1993 under the care of Dr. Jonathan Colter, a graduate of Palmer College. Dr. Colter owned and operated the business over the course of 20 years and specialized in chiropractic and nutrition. In 2014, Dr. Colter made the decision to retire and begin focusing on the creation of a non-profit for obese children. This presented a great opportunity for Dr. Taknicia Taylor to purchase and take over the office.
“I have been a patient of chiropractic medicine for many years under the care of one doctor. When the time came to make the move to a new service, I wasn't sure what to expect. I couldn't be happier with the care I receive at Huntersville Family Chiropractic. The entire team works hard to provide great service from the time you arrive until you leave.”
"Huntersville Family Chiropractic does live up to the name. They are all awesome with great charisma and personality combined with professionalism. Healthy is their goal and with me, it already has made an impact. I work a lot, so if you do too, make sure you're taking care of your body and seeing a chiropractor. I highly recommend the team at Huntersville Family Chiropractic- One of the best decisions I've made!"

Dr. Taknicia Taylor received her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina Upstate (USCU) in 2008 with a Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in biology and a cognate in Psychology. During her studies Dr. Taylor was able to volunteer under some of the best physical therapist and orthopedic surgeons in the upstate at Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolina’s, it was here that she began to understand the importance of preventative health.
Following graduation from USCS Dr. Taylor began working at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center (SRMC) alongside registered nurses at regional nurse on call. It was here that she learned that the public’s idea of getting healthy was taking prescriptions rather then changing their detrimental lifestyle. Dr. Taylor then began looking into alternative healthcare and was introduced to Chiropractic.
After a year of working at SRMC Dr. Taylor enrolled at Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic in 2010. During her education she traveled to Haiti and Dominican Republic on a Chiropractic Mission Trip, where she was able to give free adjustments to their communities. It was here that Dr. Taylor truly understood the power of an adjustment.
Dr. Taylor graduated from Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic in July of 2013. She fully believes that the body has the ability to heal it’s self. Although, diet, exercise, and sleep contribute to the body’s overall health, the most important is that your nervous system is free from interference cause by spinal misalignments. Routine chiropractic care is the only way to make sure your nervous system can be expressed to it’s full potential and thus allowing for a happier, healthier life.
